Color code should be on the door (driver's door) label. The code equals the paint name which can be found either in the store or online.

Most white box panthers I have seen, are oxford white. Its not pure white, depending on the year. What is the two digit code from the door?

Then look it up online. There is a company, in New Orleans, that makes all the older colors by the spray can or bottle if you need it.

for most colors you are correct, most parts stores computer and print info doesn't go back that far , however , it goes by the paint code , and most whites and blacks have been the same for DECADES , that being said , if it is oxford white , that color may have been used for the last 30 years and should have used the same paint code , so , if your paint code matches that color it should be the same(nnot taking into account sun fade and age discoloration)

Its a two digit code. If you can read your door tag and get the code, I may be able to get you the paint type. And like said, most base paints were used for years but, the codes kept changing. Oxford white in '81 will have a different code than '88 but, may be the exact same white.

Nope, I have some factory manuals that list the codes. Is your code 9L under the "exterior paint" part? If so, its oxford white.

When I was buying paint at NAPA last year, the guy took a mobile scan of my car. The scanner was plugged into a computer and the factory color was soon found.

I just looked at my car. It is a 9L on the door, which I am guessing is Oxford White!
