Tends to be a cycle of not posting so often. Graduated Electrical Engineering in May. Trying to get back on the Mercury Project. Got sidetracked because got an offer I couldn't refuse. Got a 2002 Mustang GT manual for dirt cheap because it needed a motor. Spent a month on getting it running. Since I finished the Mustang, I decided to continue the Mercury. I got a donor roof for it since the original roof somehow in the span of two years rusted by itself(I technically didn't attack it early enough, life got in the way). Good News is the project continues and should be close enough that I should be able to throw primer on it hopefully in a month or two hopefully.

Congrats on your engineering degree. It takes A LOT of work - mine is in petroleum so I am familiar. Best of luck with the Mustang. That was a great deal of work on the Merc - looks good!

Thank you. Its been a process to have it installed. I've been going in blind getting it done. But its doable.

Well. Pulled the trigger and decided I want to do a manual swap on the car. Said to myself since the roof is replaced and the interior is still not in, might as well manual swap it now. Going with a tr3650.

I like the manual on the Mustang. It sold me on the Manual transmission.

Transmission came in. Brought more parts than expected. Good news is I have an aluminum driveshaft and May install at the same time the 4.10s the old axle had.

Not much update but the roof is fully welded. I also did decide to go to bare metal to remove the issue with the paint falling off. Also, took the trunk to bare metal due to rust. Did use Picklex to be able to stop the rust from continuing. I did seal the metal and then used 2kprimer. This way hopefully the rust no longer shows up again. Now to begin the body Work

As I continued with painting the roof and trunk, I did continue with more rust work. The Driver floor had some rust which I did cut and patched. May not be the best but it works. Also the rocker panel is bad. Currently working on all the rust. Currently Using 3 x 1 rectangular tubing to reinforce the area. Also started the Manual Swap on it. Removed the transmission. Now, I will also remove the Motor to do some maintenance on it since it only has 120k. Want it to last a bit before upgrading.

Jesus, all this rust in FLA? My dad has a place damn near right on the water but I never see cars with any rust on them when I visit. Certainly nothing like we see here in MI.
