On mine, I don't want to collapse the bumper shock absorbers. I'm just curious if I loosen the bolts (or even remove them) I can slide the bumper back in the frame a bit and then reinstall the bolts. With my 89 to 87 conversion I'm left with basically a full lip on front bumper. (In a way it's nice because you can sit on it if needed. )

Last bumper I did, there were actually multiple bolt locations in the frame where I could bolt into to set the depth. This one I just have the one spot.

I think David has sent me in the right direction though. Maybe I'll just have to try it out and see.

    </thread jack> (for now.. )

worth a try. I don't know how exactly that hooks to the frame, but if there's a set screw... that should work.

It has been done and looks good but the dude that did it was on another forum years ago. Also this title was misleading as hell.

well, they rate flushes with golf balls most of the time. Maybe on the super duper units they rate it in Lincoln bumpers.

I was just looking at mine earlier. They stick out of the side way to far. I though about narrowing it. Then again I may look into getting a set of aluminum bumpers from a newer model. My 89 had Aluminum bumpers.
