    LTB: 2-door lower moldings

I am still in the hunt for lower trim for my 2door marquis(GMGT). '79-87 MGM and crown vic both work. The door and behind the door are 2 door specific. The rear quarter and piece in front of the door is same as 4 door cars. Also looking for wheel well moldings. Main concern is brightness. Minor damage is ok. Current trim on my car is too faded for repair. Let me know what you have!

Can you restore what you already have?? Might be "easier" than finding any at all and especially ones in good shape.

+1. I don't know off-hand if they are stainless or anodized aluminum, but the anodized trim can be acid-dipped and re-anodized. Then you'd have brand-new trim, essentially. Stainless can be buffed.

Its anodized aluminum. I wonder what the cost is to re anodize this stuff. My trim is not damaged, just faded. Still need to find a replacement wheel well and quarter molding for the drivers rear quarter. This side was in an accident once in its life. Bee curious on the price of re chroming bumpers. I think its cheaper to buy another car for the parts lol.

Julian if you cannot find new stuff pick up some "Hair and Grease Remover." You can then coat everything with a product called shark hide.

Great find David, thanks! This might be a good solution. This way, the condition of the trim can be kept up. I might try this on some trim kicking around.

Wow, that worked really well in the video!

Do you know if you have to spray a new clear coat over it after you're done or will the trim hold it's shine?

It will be bare aluminum. It will dull over time after you do your polish do bring out the luster. Look up the product called shark hide. I think eastwood sells it or sells something similar. It is for polished surfaces and is a clear coat.

The shark hide is interesting stuff. Since its industrial, it should last. Just might have to remove the trim of GMGT in the spring and do this whole polishing project. I still would like the factory stuff but, its a decent last resort.

I am interested. Do you have the wheel lip moldings too? What condition is everything in? I wish I had a dash pad but don't. There is a black one on e-bay. I don't know about the door switch panel. I should have it but, need to dig through my old parts. Or do youmean the arm rest? I do have a hood ornament. I will take a pic of it.

I have these two. You can have both if you want. They are in decent condition. Just need to be polished.
