    95 MGM Cylinder misfire

We had a horrible winter! My Grand Marquis did not like the cold and neither did I. So a while back when it got really cold the "check engine" light came on and I noticed one of the cylinders was out. When it warmed up, it went a away and so did the "check engine" light. But it got cold again and the light came back. I brought it to the shop and the code reader said, cylinder six is not firing. We have changed the fuel injector, thinking that would fix the problem but it didn't. Got all brand new spark plugs too and the cables are good as well. I also noticed the fuel consumption is horrendous. Any suggestions what it could be?

Swap the coil packs and see if the misfire moves?

She has two coil packs on the front.
It's a waste spark system, so #6 and #1 fire at the same time, regardless of which cylinder is actually firing. So idealy, if the packs were bad, it would also show up on #1 as well.
      But,
You can swap the two coil packs on the front of the engine.
According to the firing order, if you swap the packs and the issue is with the packs, #7 will now start misfiring.
You could have a bad injector. I've had two injectors stay open on me before.
Also make sure the spark plug cables are installed correctly and in the correct order.

We tried a fuel injector from a GT 40, they look almost the same, one of my friends says it will work another insists it doesn't. It doesn't work! But my question is could it just be another faulty injector or does it really not work on that engine?

We found the problem! It was the computer. It looks like it got wet somehow. He runs good again! I am so happy …
