        Question...what tranny does this have..? I don't see an AOD badge on the fender, is it a 3 speed? would make sense with those gears

          could be a c4 or fmx... getting under it and checking the pan shape and bolt count will help.

            Interesting, I didn't know the FMX made its way into a Panther. I figured all 3-speed cars were C4s.

            Wow, 2.26 gears....I wonder how fast it will get to at the top of 1st at WOT. 70??

              Nice score. 2.26 gears though... yeah 70mph in first.

              85 4 door 351 Civi Crown Victoria - Summer daily driver, sleeper in the making, and wildly inappropriate autocross machine
              160KMs 600cfm holley, shorty headers, 2.5" catted exhaust, 255/295 tires, cop shocks, cop swaybars, underdrive pulley, 2.73L gears.
              waiting for install: 3.27's, Poly bushings, boxed rear arms, 2500 stall converter, ported e7's, etc

                leave the 2.26 gears and build a 700hp engine and trans that can handle it... hit the traps in 2nd at the track.

                or some 3.55, AOD, 351w and enjoy the hell outta it.

                              Could be wrong but I think the 5.0 had the C4 and the 5.8 was a "choice" of C4 or C6. SOMEBODY out there has to have a better memory than me.....Bobby
