Washed teh car this morning and went to town on the paint. Clay bared the car with a more aggresive clay bar to get the remaining guts off the paint then Mequiars ultimate compound on a orbital buffer. After that was a hand polish with meguiars ultimate polish and then a wax job with meguiars gold class paste wax. Perty Perty.

Compound took out a number of scratches on the paint too which was a bonus!

I suspect he'd freak out if a group of women were sitting on the hood of his car. I would too. Who wants to look at permanent ass-dent in your hood?

A menage de cinq might be worth a new hood. I would at least consider it.

                    lol.

Ahh. I'd probably be very pissed.

                    Ball joint day!

Replaced the lower ball joints on the Benz this afternoon. Both sides were shot. Drivers side was the worse of the two.

                    New replacements came from AutohausAZ.com

                    Some undercarriage pics...

                    I'm FLYING

                    Hmm...

Ahhh.... Thats where the above goes!

                    Surgery...

                    The olds

                    The new

                    More surgery

                    I'm FLYING AGAIN

                    Ready to go back in

                    All done

Started at 4pm and ended at 7. Waiting one hour for the ball joints to show up from Mr. UPS man and spent another half hour eating dinner. I gotta say that EVERYTHING went very smooth.

The exhaust tips on The Benz were loosing their paint (painted just on the inside and are really fake tips as the exhaust exits from behind them) so I removed them from the vehicle and refreshed their looks.

                          Before:

After.. No installed pics as of yet:

Self etching primer, engine primer and engine paint. Should looks nice once installed.

nice. That flaking paint always bothers me.

Looks like you got lucky and didn't have one of the german cars with TWO lower ball joints. Those are fun. Just try explaining to someone you need a "lower front front right" ball joint.

Thanks guys. Installed them this morning. Much nicer:

                                ''

I also learned that my glove box was not functioning as it should have been. This glove box has a shock absorber to aid in its opening, ya know...so it does not open too fast. That was not working on my car so I looked into that this morning.

This is the shock absorber and what I found out was that it was no longer connected to the glove box.

Couple simple zip ties and all is well again:
