    New carpet and headliner

Has anyone bought replacement carpet or headliner from Rock Auto? Are they any good? I will need to replace both in the box. For the carpet I would like the newer style carpet that's not as hairy as the stock box stuff. Anyone know where to get replacements?

They sell aftermarket carpets, I know a few people here have bought them.

ACC mats I have used and have been very pleased. I have also used JC Whitney however their quality seems to have dropped. I would get exact fit instead of messing around using bulk material. It sounds like you want loop pile carpet
Headlining material I buy in bulk from an upholstery shop. Headliners are pretty easy to do. just order more than you need plus some for the visors.

Can't beat Stockinteriors for carpets- molded as it should be and a good fit with minor trimming at door thresholds.

i just looked into this company. very nice. will be ordering from them for my 82 merc, however i dont see a listing for my 88. is there even a difference? of all the interchangable parts for panthers id've thought carpet wouldnt be a big deal. anyone had luck using the earlier gen carpet on the site to use for the later boxes?

They have pre-fit carpet for 89s on Ebay in a bunch of different colors, I don't know how good they are though.
              89 Grand Marquis GS.

Putting it here because I keep forgetting to mention it. It's not very exciting at the moment.

The headliners are easy. Just pull the trim and lights and take it out through a door, a shop should be able to recover it for you for a good price. I used to do mustang headliners for $50 if they brought me the board. This is the one I did for my 85.

beware the ebay "molded" ones. I got one and it was junk. Didnt line up or anything.

I ended up doing the headliner myself. As for carpet I went with ACC from Rock Auto.

I used Permatex adhesive from Canadian Tire. Orange cans with blue lid.

Have you tried fitting it yet?

I bought an ACC carpet from RA for my '75 F250. Looks like its a quality piece, and nicely molded, but I haven't actually tried to put it in the truck yet.

I'm curious how good they actually are, because RA has them for less than half what any of the other big parts houses (LMC, NPD, etc), do.
