    The Escape had the water pump driven by the exhaust cam on the 3-litres in '07, but not '08. Dunno if there were many problems with them, but my mechanic had one sitting for awhile with a bum engine. You can find Escapes with blown motors all over CL all the time, cheap, but may just be dumbass owners, dunno if it's indicative of an engineering problem.

      I've had to replace seized pumps from later motors but never older than 07!
