I've also seen the door handle straps in the HELP section at Pep Boys. They only had one last time I looked and it was a two tone brown and tan one for like $20 or so. I was surprised to see them still floating around for sale in stores.

I need to replace both of mine as the pleather is shot on it. How close are those aftermarket piece to OEM?

Would this be it? They actually look nicer than OEM.

David, alternatives are fine. I failed with the jc whitney link. Since my oem passenger door strap is fine, I'll hold out for a tan passenger strap that one of y'all might find on a parts car, that could become my driver's side.

Slack, are any pics of the Pep Boys version available?

My old 82 MGM in the wrecking yard has the 2 door straps in red. They were in good condition last time I saw the car. PM me for more info.

On my 85' there are 2 large nuts on the back of the door panel holding the staps in place.

The ones in my photos were aftermarket already but I still believe originals are bolted into place anyways.
