Wow! One of the nicest '90 Townies I've seen in a while. Top of the line trim too! Fully fuckin' loaded 5.0 Townies are the best. Lots of interesting, useful features you just don't/can't get on cars nowadays- namely a slick digidash and a thermometer on the driver side mirror. I love how they recessed the digidash quadrants for '90, and added more colors. Reminds me of a fighter jet cockpit for some reason. The old style digidash reminds me of old computers. In a good way though.

TLDR: Both the box and aero style digidashes are amazing, equally so. They're two slightly different approaches to the same destination- relaying information to the driver in a supremely cool way.

I thought the Cartier came with a sunroof- perhaps this was a custom ordered car. If so, I especially envy you. It's super difficult to find a Cartier trim Townie (box or aero variety) sans the sunroof. Let alone without baked paint, peeling clearcoat, and rampant rear 1/4 rot + rocker panel rot.

It's safe to say that she's never seen a winter, and was always kept out of excessive sun exposure. Now THAT is a score.

The '90 Town Car is like a factory Box-Aero. Tried and true box drivetrain, big box bumpers (albeit smoothed out for 1990) front and rear, finished off with early aero looks. It's really, really cool. You're making me want to buy one of those! Should be a great little summertime hot rod once you get into the build. Definitely interested in seeing your progress!

Thanks. It does have the sunroof. Ill get some better photos today. I was standing in the rain and wanted to get a couple quick photos. Yea, I looked underneath and there is very little rust. esp for being an indiana/Iowa car. I hope to get a cvpi beater car for winter and keep this the summer car.

Definitely stock duals with Super Turbo or Magnaflow mufflers as one of the first things. After fixing the immediate stuff on my Lincoln when I got it, the first thing I did was buy stock duals and had them installed with pipe in place of the mufflers, could definitely tell a difference in power and mileage over stock single.

                            Yea, its really clean.

I found some underside photos. There is the dreaded water in the passenger floor well, so that might just be a clogged wiper cowl. How much do you know about the HO conversion? I am trying to decide between buying a HO motor or just swapping the intake, tb etc.

If I was you, I'd be spraying a whole lot of rust inhibitor on the rusty spots on the underside, especially the part of the frame in the first photo. I've been spraying mine with Rust Check, and it still developed holes in that particular spot (though I hadn't previously appreciated its significance). I think there is a way to get some rust inhibitor into the inside of that corner if you look through the various holes in the frame in that area. (Of course, now that mine has the extra rust holes, accessibility isn't an issue for me. )
