    CAI for Christmas.

    Here's a quick question. I am getting a cold air for Christmas. Which one is the least of a pain in the ass to bolt up and fit under the hood of my 89 MGM.? I know I can bolt up anything made for the block but I don't want to(unless I have to) move anything around down there. I also don't feel like making a pep boys special intake either. I am kind of a brand snob. Lol.

          The stock one works perfectly fine for 150hp

            Well your not going to get it from replacing the stock airbox.

            Duals, and HO upper/TB/EGR spacer are the best bang for the buck mods.

              Perhaps you'd like proof of aftermarket CAIs being little more than snake oil. Here it is:

              K&N isn't the only company who falsely claims to add 300% more air flow. Weapon-R does it for their "Secret Weapon" line of CAIs, as does aFe for their 99.5-02 Ford powerstroke CAIs. I'm sure there are others.

              +1 for pantera's idea. Headers are another good option- might as well throw on either Mustang long tubes or Mustang short tubes if you're going to replace the exhaust. ANYTHING beats those heavy, not-even remotely-good-flowing stock headers.

                Here's some interesting research for later model air intakes:

                When you put one of the big cone filters under the hood, you run the risk of the intake air being warmer than it would be with the stock setup.
