It seems like most people go with the mark v rear end for discs.
I haven't got around to my c6 yet in the Lincoln, but there are definitely lots of different converters out there.

      Love that fast boat!

What ratio rear is in there? Might be a 2.75 desert gear. If not doing freeway driving a swap might do a lot.

How much work would it be to swap in an AOD from a 460 F series truck? (Or were those AOD-E's?)

Those were usually C6s IIRC. I think there may have been some E4OD versions in the mid 90s. A 460 would destroy an AOD unless it was BUILT.

AH, e4od. I saw a 91 460 powered quad cab with one, had the little OD lock out button and such.

Wow....good to be back. Had her in storage... got her out a month ago and went to work:

1 . installed a tranny cooler. This should have been done earlier. BTW.....it's Type F tranny fluid for those who care.
              2. put in a ministarter. No more hard cranking
              3. OEM ignition coil had to go.
              4. Ford racing pull wires
5 . Put a bigger air filter in...my old one was restrictive and the filter was getting sucked in.

              Throw some pics up soon.

              The to do list.

Headers. Gotta do it...even with the better intake this thing has to breath more. Sucks that it has to be custom.

Differential gear. She is at 2.75. Anyone got what ratio I should go to?

I'm going 3.50 gears for the mark v. Should be good enough for showing off around town haha

All depends what you want to do with it. For in town cruising and highway drivability I'd keep the 2.75's or maybe bump it up to 3.23's. Anything beyond that and you'll want a transmission with OD or a gear vendors unit. I had a 454 powered GMC truck with 4.10's and no over drive. Sucked, top speed was 60mph @ 3k rip 'ems...

Got the coin to finally get the exhaust done. Custom headers are in the works. The gain in HP is going to be unbelievable.

After the intake, cam, and timing set upgrade, this beast has got to breathe more...those stock manifolds gotta go.

Nice, welcome back to the State.
If we pull together another Detroit area meet this year you're more than welcome to come if you can. We'd love to see this car, but bring whatever you can and just hang out. Kyle brought his Chrystler 200 this past summer, so a Ford (Mercury) older than a box wouldn't be out of place at all.

Thanks for the offer, I am more than down to meet up. Lately, the itch to bring this car out if storage has been insufferable.

                                Welcome back dude!
Yeah, we'd like to see it out of the garage. I saw it in person before, pretty bad ass. I'd buy it if it were in my price range
Meet ups are a good time, I'm planning on attending this years whenever it is. Ash may or may not have another panther by that time..
