Here she is.....cant let her loose until I get exhaust work done
Cam was broken in at idle for 45mins (with a little throttle here and there),
No leaks...no milk in my oil...
....those are just exhaust manifolds on....daemon smoke!!!!

Its loud...but video doesn't really reflect that...

Dude, that is flippin' sick. Sounds like a proper muscle car, both at idle and under load! That interior is super quiet too- puts my '89 to shame. Now I REALLY want my own old iron 460 car!

I dont know if this is apples and oranges...but the 5.0 does not hold a candle this beast.
Not trying to talk shit about the 5.0..... that has kept my 88 TC running....

....I have like 512 foot pounds of torque?
When I get the headers on....the stopwatch will come out!!!

The relief....always a big question mark when you restore an engine....glad I took this slow..
....it helps to have only 63,000 miles on the lower block.....and I have the original shop manuals from '78.

They weigh are like 17 pounds a piece...3 inch inlet....they are the Hearthrob:

                              5" x 11" x 14" case
3" center in - center out (for maximum flow)
More flow and less back pressure than most other chambered designs, including flowmaster.

Heartthrob Velocity Series Mufflers (HVS) are a great choice for your vehicle. Heart throb exhaust has spent years developing and fine tuning the Velocity Series muffler. This Hearthrob velocity muffler flows amongst the best of welded performance mufflers on the market, is normally quieter inside the vehicle, and is still aggressive at the tail pipe. Call it having your cake and eating it too. Our unique center wing baffle isolates sound in the HVS muffler, and combined with our welded double-wrapped shell, sends the sounds to the tail pipe. You get excellent exhaust flow, a durable welded double-wrapped shell, lower interior sounds, and a powerful sound at the tail pipes. The 5-1/2” x 11” bodies flow better than the 4” x 9”, and the 5-1/2” x 11” bodies are quieter. These velocity mufflers are directional mufflers which are not reversible.
