I've never messed with an aftermarket torque converter, so my question is would a 10 inch converter bolt right up or does size matter

The size of the tc is usually dependant on the amount of stall you desire. I used a b&m on my vic, don't recall the size or advertised stall. As long as it will bolt to your year of flex plate & aod you should be good

Like mitymerc said, if the bolt pattern aligns, you should be good.

As they get smaller in diameter (usually the stall speed goes up), they use arms outside the converter housing to attach to the original mounting points.

I had a dirty dog 3200 in my coupe; what a great converter.
