    Broken speedo?

So I decided to put in the 140 speedo I have today, I took it apart to match my actual mileage and put it back together. It was fine until some time today during the install when the needle dropped off to the bottom. It rises when I turn the back as it should when hooked to the trans but is this actually going to work?
    Is this fixable?

I have a few days until the car will be ready to run and I have time to take it back apart so it's not an issue.
If anyone has fixed a speedo like this, can you tell me what you did or what I broke?
    Thanks,
    Tom

Isn;t there a peg in there that prevents that from falling down?

yeah, the peg broke most likely. It may actually be on the bottom side against the counterweight though. I'd take some superglue and put it (or something equivalent) back in to hold it at or near 0. It will probably work but no clue how accurate it would be, especially at lower speeds.
