    The EEC harness really isn't as scary as it appears. Just make sure you get the piece that goes to the oxygen sensors. The part down to the trans wouldn't be a terrible idea either. The start circuits are wired a little differently on the later ones, and the 88+ ECM has VSS wiring in it. The 87- has VSS only to the cruise, later has it to the ECM. The later ECMs can get a little cranky without VSS signal. They open the EGR too soon and it will stumble off-idle.
