You'd use a Mustang ECU since they don't have cruise.

I thought some 'Stang's had cruise control.

Mustangs don't have integrated cruise like a Mark VII does. They have an external cruise control computer. All cars prior to 1988 have this setup as well. Using a late VII (1988-1992) with either a non-cruise or non-integrated cruise car should not cause problems. I have a 1988 Mark VII integrated cruise ECM in a 1986 non-integrated cruise car and it all works fine. Not sure what ECM NitroRacer uses in his HO car, but he doesn't have cruise at all. Might want to ask him what he's using and if it has any problems.

And since I can't edit it for some reason, I should also mention that 1989 and newer Mustangs are mass air ECMs, so they won't work for you unless you go mass air.
