    Say it isn't so!

Ok, life's funny sometimes. Going through a huge financial strategy re-org due to debt monkeys on back. This necessitates some sacrifice. I'm offering up the Blue Boat for sale. This is crushing me to type this. I had so many great plans for her and I had a good start to actually completing them. But with new baby and debt monkeys, comes great responsibility.

Don't feel too bad for me though, as part of this plan is acquiring a newer Grand Marquis to replace our Buick. So I'm not out of the Panther game, just changing how I'm participating. The car is up on Kijiji. Not sure if it's live yet. I will post a link as soon as it is.

I want to get $2000. Firm. Maybe I'm on crack... but I really don't HAVE to sell her. It would just help. And in order for her to help, she needs to bring in 2 Gs.

Please understand I am typing this through tears and heart palpitations.

Are you working full-time? You could also look at trimming expenses. If you have cable and don't watch much tv, you could cancel it. That would help free up a few bucks.

Yeah, there's a few things we're looking at. The TV is a good idea but the wife is on mat leave and is home all day, so the TV is pulling its weight as far as use goes. Like I said though, the car needs to bring in a certain price for it to be worth selling and I doubt it's going to do it with the way the market is for these things. Maybe if she was perfect I would be in more trouble. Right now we're basically just trying all strategies available to us and whatever works will contribute and whatever doesn't will just stay status quo. And don't feel sorry for us, we're pretty good financially in terms of making our bills and living life. Just some lingering debts that we would really like to take care of. We've put them off too long already and the sooner we pay them off the more cash we'll have in a few years to do the car thing properly.

Actually it's the most worn of any of the seats! I'm only the third owner and it's just been in my wife's family. Her grandparents bought it new in the spring of 1985. (although it was built in August of 1984) While it did serve 'beater' duties for about 4 years or so, other than that it's just been senior driven or hanging out in a barn.

Hahaha, probably in the spirit of not wanting to actually sell the poor girl, I inadvertently said there was an intake manifold leak rather than an exhaust manifold leak. Sabotage from within!!!

Just to be clear, the intake is fine!

Dropped the price a little to generate more interest. So far it's been ineffective.

Well the old girl is gone. It's going to a good home with a happy new owner who will give her the attention she deserves. She'll actually get driven on a regular basis as my understanding is she'll be his daily driver. Anyway, I'm out of the panther game for now, but still have plans to acquire a whale GM or something of the like in the near future... as soon as the Buick sells.
