I used KYB 344081 GR-2 / Excel-G listed for police cars (under 1991 MGM) on Rockauto.
I'm very satisfied with them. I don't know how they compare to the kG5458 shocks, but they are much better than civi (Gabriel or Bilstein, I don't recall) shocks that I put on my '89.

Considering they make my 88 handle well and it has the thin front bar and no rear bar... I'd say they're pretty good. The F150 shocks I have in the rear now kinda act like a sway bar though.

Just ordered a new Motorcraft TPS. After reading alot of threads, I feel like mine has a dead spot at around 30mph.

I also called Rock-Auto about the front shocks. I told them I ordered the wrong ones on accident, and how the police fronts were not listed for my ride. They basically said I'm SOL because they are installed. Oh well, I thought it was worth a shot.

Dunno, I've had the same GR-2 civilian ones on the front of my car for probably a decade now. They're getting tired but still not terrible. I wouldn't worry about it.

Save the info for next time. The float is way worse in the LX/LS aeros than the boxes. That was my main gripe. The ones I put on the 93 just bounced everywhere. It handled the road fine though... but I needed more control over the bounce as it was triggering my motion sickness. Same reason I put truck shocks on the rear of the beater when I put the variable rate cargo coils on it.

                            3G time!

I've learned a lot from these cars over the past 19 years (worked on my mom's when I was 11) but still have a ton to learn.
These cars are great for learning.

Where is the other piece? If it looks like it may just fit you have the right parts. Its a bitch to get them in. Super snug fit when new.

If the other piece does not look even close to fitting then you have the wrong parts.
