    Timing was set with the SPOUT unplugged yes?
    86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

        crank sensor? pinched fuel line? does the fuel pressure say up when you give it some throttle? *grasping at straws*

              If it was the EGR valve it wouldn't idle well or not even at all. A quick test of that would be to pop the vacuum line going to it off, cap it and then apply some vacuum to it. You'll know if it opens [and isn't clogged] if the idle changes by becoming stumbly and such.

                Need more help...

                My vacuum line has been broken off of the egr selinoid for quite awhile, it never changed anything so I never messed with it

                  Crank sensor is right behind the timing marker. make sure it's plugged in properly. They rarely go bad unless they get damaged.

                    You should get slightly better economy with that connected. Also was the line caped?

                          Its a 302. No crank sensors after 83 or before about 1996.
