It's a shame that good money was spent on a replacement TFI if it is the problem. I'd hate to see you get another one and still have the same problem, but you may be right.

Head back to the codes and see if there is any direction that can be gained there, unless you already checked and came up with nothing.

One thought crossed my mind is you may have a timeing chain that is out of kilter and yes it can happen in high mileage engines so see if that is the case good luck.

crank sensor? pinched fuel line? does the fuel pressure say up when you give it some throttle? *grasping at straws*

Could it have something to do with the egr?

If it was the EGR valve it wouldn't idle well or not even at all. A quick test of that would be to pop the vacuum line going to it off, cap it and then apply some vacuum to it. You'll know if it opens [and isn't clogged] if the idle changes by becoming stumbly and such.

My vacuum line has been broken off of the egr selinoid for quite awhile, it never changed anything so I never messed with it

Crank sensor is right behind the timing marker. make sure it's plugged in properly. They rarely go bad unless they get damaged.

Its a 302. No crank sensors after 83 or before about 1996.

Videos have to go to Youtube or some other image / video hosting thing.
