Yah I never valet my car if I can avoid it. When we went to Sinbad's we had to though, and when the valet went to get my car he got in, twisted the key and immediately threw it in gear. Bad form. People that do that make me shake my head.

Belle Isle is a bit too hipster for me. I bet the smell of granola and chain lube is strong over there.

How about this partial plan for the 26th:
We could meet at Halmich Park in Warren, MI on 13 Mile.
We can probably find some shade there, either on the north side of the 13 Mile lot or on the west side of the Chicago Road lot.

Last time we had a mini meet it seemed like we could have gone on for hours just BSing about our cars, so how about meet at the park around Noon or early afternoon.
Eat lunch before arriving or bring your own lunch and show up whenever you want since we wouldn't be leaving the park until later to hit up a Restaurant.

Halmich Park is a public park, so there is no fee to get in. I've been there a few times, there's always plenty of parking available and even a few shaded spots should be open.

So the work I needed to get done on The Ice Car did not get done over the last two weeks... so The Scab will be attending this one since I will not have enough time between now and then to get everything done on The Ice Car.

Nick, how bad is the damage on the '90? You still bringing it?


Like I mentioned in post #52, I think Halmich Park In Warren, MI would be a good meeting place and we can workout where to go for some grub.

I propose around noonish but everyone would be on their own for lunch. I think this would give a good amount of BSing time.
If that is too early (I could do earlier...), I'd say try to be there by 3:00 so we have enough time to figure out dinner (if we don't hash that out ahead of time).



I'll actually be at this park for a team picnic on Wednesday, so I'll have a chance to take note of where there may be some shaded spots but I think the north side of the 13 Mile lot gets some shade from the big old maple trees.

I think I know where that park is, by the our old house. Not a bad place for a meet but they always have baseball games and crap up there.

Yep, not far from your old place Derek.
I've only been there during the week for the annual team picnic at work, but I would think there would be enough space available for us even with some games going on.
