    1980 LTD S Wagon

was there ever an option to NOT have the rear jump seats?

Guy I work with and I may go look at a wagon over the lunch hour, owner claims it does not have the rear seats. Also, we may be looking to flip this car; central Ks. Said to have always been garaged, light blue, low miles; if there is any interest hit me up. Wrong year range for me or I would be making my wife very mad.

I think someone recently mentioned in another post that no jump seats was an option on some of the stripped down models. I don't know for sure myself though.

It's too bad she didn't wreck your car then! You would have everything you need for an SEFI swap (if that is your concern about the model year).

Stripper models typically did not have them.

There's one just like that in the same colours here in my city. It comes out for car shows, super clean.

I'm eyeing the header panel, thinking if one came along I might want to swap it onto my '83 Grand Marquis or the upcoming '85 Squire if that does work out. Is the LTD S hood unique and matched to the header panel? It kinda looks like it might be.

Not sure, the S grill is wider right?

That's what I'm thinking but it's hard to eyeball it. I do know it's definitely not a Mercury hood, it may or may not be the same as the other Fords...

None of my wagons have jump seats. The 88 is a weird option combo car special ordered by owner 1. The 90 is a stripper Country Squire. I want the seats; everyone always asks if they have them since that was the cool place to ride as a kid in the 1950's-1980's.

I think the hood is standard issue 1979-87 Ford stuff, no difference in LTD-S. Will double check to be sure.

I don't think the Ford header panels will work on the Mercurys without a little bit of modification. There was a thread regarding frame lengths and the Mercury ones have extensions on the front to give a few extra inches since the header panels are longer, which puts the bumpers out a little bit more.

Assuming you added the extra extension to the end of the frame, you could fit it. I think Mr Bean dealt with that during the frame swap portion on the Mod Box.

Here's that thread with info: http://www.grandmarq.net/vb/showthre...t=frame+length
