90-91 E Brake cable attachment inside drum

90-91 rear drum and parking brake setup.

I have completely forgotten. How the heck are you supposed to attach the end of the cable inside the drum?

Trying to pull the spring back while pulling the lever forward to hook it around the slot then release spring - need three hands and you have a mail slot space to work in. Any tips?

Just typing it out - maybe zip tie the spring back, then move lever forward and place it then cut the zip tie? Any other tricks?

been forever since I did Panther drums but hooking the cable first and then putting the springs in sounds right.
