It is a nicely optioned California car with rear defrost, K code rear, dual exhaust, power antenna, power leather seats, leather wrapped steering wheel, ditch lights... well optioned for a GS. Same color as The Scab.
But yeah, not a 4.6 and it does not have passenger airbag as listed under "Item specifics". At least they have the model year right in the ad.
Also needs more and better pictures. Does it have ATC? Fuel door popper? Premium Sound? Hitch?
Too rich for my blood, but damn that's a clean box.

Yup, Cali car for sure, in gorgeous shape no doubt, but $8k? I dunno. Then again, what can you get in a nice used car for that money that's as cool as a mercury? Not much really. 5 year-old civic with 150,000 miles? Fuck that. Wish i had 8 grand lying about, that car is tits.

Totally worth it in my book. Sure it will need some work from sitting, but paint, trim, and undercarriage it spot on. Optioned right.

I’d love to know the story of how it made it this long on only went that far.

I've seen an '87 MGM asking $10.5K in nowhere near as nice condition as your TC... you need to double that number. You should surely be able to get $15K if not more for your TC if that MGM was worth $10.5K.

                You're too kind, Vic.

Asking vs selling price though, right?

                  Yes, asking price was $10.5K.
This thing had very small rust spots, scratches, dents, one broken front turn signal lens, interior wasn't even vacuumed and not mint (although not terrible). This was 5-6 months ago I saw this thing.

                    1,500 max.

Body work is INSANELY expensive. Really any car that needs any bodywork, and by default, PAINT the price drops A LOT in my book as it will cost A lot to make it right.

No, it's a '90-'91 thing. It does have premium sound though. Zooming in I can just barely see the premium sound emblem on the driver door pod. The emblem is mostly silver in the left 1/4 (not shown in the pic) and mostly black on the right 3/4 (a sliver of which is barely within the bounds of the picture). Although I believe this would be the football amp premium sound which isn't really anything special.

Seller must be mistaken. There is no way that is a GS. It’s way too loaded, has to be an LS.

Not sure what it will sell for, but 8K is fair that car IMO.

I thought the same thing. The car in the ad is slightly "better" optioned than my LS. Of course there isn't a close enough picture of the badge/emblem on the trunk to tell which that says.

I must have missed these pictures (I must have been tired when I posted last night):

It clearly has premium sound and ATC.
Oddly enough, my LS has manual heat/AC controls, while my GS came with stock ATC ('97 LTC EATC retrofitted ).

Consider which newer car you could get for that money? If nothing catches your attention, why not buy a mint box?
