That hiss your hear is from the little crescent thing for the parking brake release, they like to break. The indicator is simply a plastic collar thing on the column which when tampered with, breaks and then the spring which is constantly trying to pull the indicator to "P" ends up pulling on it harder, causing it to read wrong. A zip tie is a good temporary[permanent] fix.

Very nice car. I would love to have a base model wagon like that.

Right, do know that. (see end of post 10)

It works and stops hissing when I move the indicator directly on the D.

          I love productive lunch breaks!

The windshield has a gnarly crack going right across the driver side (typical huh)

Don't get too excited! There are mid size LTD and Marquis models! Make sure the windshield is for a GRAND marquis or Crown Victoria! WagonMan

Yeah, you'd be looking for a part that crosses 79-91 anyway. Since it specifically says 83-86 it's almost guaranteed to be the Fox cars, not the Panther ones.

Would have been an awesome find, though...

              Current driver: Ranger
              Panthers: 83 GM 2dr | 84 TC | 85 CS
              | 88 TC | 91 GM
              Not Panthers: 85 Ranger | Ranger trailer | 91 Acclaim | 05 Focus
              Gone: 97 CV | 83 TC | 04 Focus | 86 GM

Snow storm today so I didn't drive the wagon but I already picked it up over lunch. It looks big enough, but yeah the dates are weird. I forget about those foxes... we shall see when I get home. Either going to be a $10 lesson or a sweet find.

                  Expect the 10$ lesson.

The adjustment is under the steering columns shrouds. Probably need to remove the fuse panel cover as well. Kinda right in between the two.

                    Yep.

Its crazy that the baby LTD/Marquis WS glass is even different than the other fox body glass (from what I can tell online)

In other news I went back the the 91 CP at the JY to pull the brackets for the rear jump seats. I'm going to take the cushions out of the 84 but I didn't realize there are 2 brackets that are welded in for those seats, along with a bunch of welded in square nuts. I didn't want to cut and grind on the 84 before selling it so I cut the front brackets off the JY car and took its hinges with the locking levers.

Looks like I'll be picking a defrost line repair kit...

I have used the kit before my permatex in my escort. The template they provide you with was much wider than the actual defrost grids. May wanna find an alternative to make the repair look more seamless.

Yeah, I've always used a couple strips of scotch tape when repairing the defrost lines otherwise it'll look like crap.

pinstripe brush and a steady hand? no? yeah... masking with some kind of tape and then paint on.

Turns out the shop I got the glass from was all screwed up (no wonder they were going out of business)

The glass I got is not for the baby LTD, its for mid 70's fords.

I listed it was what it really is, should be able to get a bit more than what I paid.
