    MFS replacement

I'm finally trying to work on my car again and the first step is replacing the MFS so I have headlights, I got it off of the column but can't figure out how to remove the stalk.
It appears to clip in there somehow, but I can't figure out how to release it.

The technique I developed is very scientific: grab it and yank it out. This is the approach for the older horn button stalks, I'm not sure if it differs on the newer ones...

He posted in boxes, and his box is an 89, so it's going to be the 85ish to 89 turn signal stalk (which did not really become a "MFS" until 90 - but that's splitting hairs).

if it's a box 79-89, it just pops in/out. Use more force. For 90+ it should be part of the new part and not need to be swapped.

The wiper stalk is separate from the MFS (aka turn signal switch).

Yes, edited that. Not sure where the word wiper came from in my head, I've got enough of the cars to know this.

I think MFS was a "retronym"...but either way...the turn signal stalk just yanks out, sometimes requiring a good bit of effort, and the wiper stalk most definitely will not come off that way unless you like breaking things.

              [Technical]
It's still an MFS since it also controls the bright lights... just not the completely combined one that started in 90.

Yeah, just needed to pull harder. I bent the stalk a year or two ago, so I straightened that a bit too.
