    A/C leak detection opinion

    A/C leak detection

If one was looking to find the leak in an a/c system with R12 would you use a "sniffer" or use the dye and black light??

    Thanks for your opinions.

Both can be useful. The sniffer is great for evaporator leaks since you can't see inside the evap case but you can poke the sniffer into a vent. The dye will show leaks that only appear under pressure. Considering how cheap the dye is to mix in with the oil you may as well.
