    New car

If this is the wrong place I am sorry I don't understand this forum to good...I have a chance to buy a 1999 for contour for $1,500..it has over 150k miles but body and engine are good needs general work..tune up and other fluids is this a good deal.thanks

Is it an SVT or just a shitty 4-banger contour? SE's have the duratec v6 too but not as cool. On the whole they are unremarkable cars, but the SVT's are badass. Still one of the only front-drivers i'd ever consider buying. Too bad it's hard to find nice ones these days.

Yeah there's a reason you don't see them on the roads any more around here, they aren't good cars. I've never even noticed them in the yards lately, must have all gotten returned to the ground from whence they came haha.

I like the look of the SE Sport in particular but sure sounds like I’d pass on that one by the sound of your description (needs work) and the input of others here.

              Get a Panther mang.

Take that $1300 you were gonna spend on the contour and go to San Antonio and buy this: https://sanantonio.craigslist.org/ct...719447263.html

Yeah there are much better cars out there for the money. Hell you can pick up a good-condition later-model whale or aero panther car for next to nothing these days. Not sure i would take a contour given to me, except the SVT of course, but they're all expensive to fix and have no value.

Yeah, like these fine folk have said, take your money and buy something else. I personally hate working on FWD stuff, especially anything with a six cylinder.

Thanks I will look at something else not in a need for a car just like shopping around and getting good deal. Thanks for all the advice I will listen to the experience you all have. Don't think you would lead a young man down wrong path.

In 98 Ford started using the soy based wiring in the Contour. Life span was about 10 years. Wiring problems plague those cars.
                            Keep looking
