    Rear end swap

I have been wanting to swap out my rear axle assembly for a while now, just haven't been able to find one to make the swap worthwhile. A nearby junkyard recently put in a 96 Crown Vic ex police car, so I went to take a look today. Someone had already removed the driver's door so I couldn't see the axle code, but I did crawl underneath and removed the tag on the rear end. Can someone interpret it for me?

    Thanks

      3L27 is 3.27 limited slip

      88 means its an 8.8

T If it wasn't a limited slip it would just say 3 27. The other ratios read out the same way.

Ok cool thanks! Id prefer a 3:55, but I think this one may be a good candidate.

Those aren't terribly common in the aero era. If you're swapping it though, make sure you pull the axles for an inspection at least. If it needs any attention, doing it before it goes under the car is a lot less annoying.
