EATC Self diagnostic check error code

I want to know what the problems are if you have a code 031 on the EATC. I know it means the temperature sensor is open.

it means either the sensor is bad, or the wiring between the sensor and the EATC is damaged. Its the in-car sensor. Most likely the sensor itself is bad.

Does the Heat- A/C work normal during manual mode?

Are you getting cold or hot air discharge during automatic temp mode?

Temperature discharge in Automatic mode should dictate which diagnostic pin point test you would do and it may also dictate which part or wiring etc could be bad faulty open shorted etc.

I like to diagnose problem before buying and or waiting for parts that may or may not fix the problem.

This link gives you a idea of what I am going on about. ( which may or may not apply to your ride )

The heat works well. The weird thing is that it throws the cold only when it's cold out, like real cold out.

Haven't tried the A/C yet, so I don't know how well that works

And I rarely put it on automatic mode.

I will look at the link that you gave. Thank you for your help!

                from here

                http://www.idmsvcs.com/2vmod/eatcswap/selftest.html

"The vehicle interior temperature should be between 4°-32°C (40-90°F) when carrying out the self-test. If the temperatures are not within the specified ranges, false in-car temperature sensor DTCs will be displayed. "

so faults only when its cold outside probably don't mean anything.
