You can get a Ford 8.8 rear with discs out of anything from a '92-97 Grand Marquis and it should bolt right up. Might need a little adaptation for the e-brake cable or whatever. Or you can check on www.car-part.com <-That's a really good junkyard parts search engine.

+1 on the 92-97 axle swap. bunch of info here about whats needed/involved. i myself used that site to locate an axle for my 82 Merc buildup. if youre after a budget build, junkyard explorers and rangers have factory 3.55 and 3.73. finding a Marq or Vic will get you 3.55 at best, and are (in my experience) more difficult to find.
im sure someone with more experience and knowledge on the subject will chime in.Charlette - Brown 1977 Ford LTD - 351 Windsor 155K, Full Custom Pioneer system, green HID, interior & underbody
Alesha - Black 1982 Mercury Marquis - 255ci 178K, full custom Kenwood and Infinity system, lowered, dual exhaust, LED all the things
Tangerine Dream - Orange 1988 F-150 Custom - 300 i6 82k, Ghetto sound system, 5spd, 2WD, #farmtruck
