Just mind that you have to check both rotational torque on the diff to get the bearing preload as well as the torque on the nut. I'd probably target the bottom of the range, check the preload, and inch up from there. Thats how I did the Continental anyway. I honestly have no clue what the final torque ended up, I just kept adding until the bearing preload was correct. It was maybe another 1/4 turn from whatever the bottom end of the torque spec was.
In my case putting it back on the same number of turns would have resulted in the original, too-low bearing preload number.Last edited by gadget73; 04-29-2019, 04:26 PM.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).
