    Internal cleaning of gas tank

Has anyone here cleaned out a tank?
I have it out, it had about 5 gallons of varnish (ex gasoline) in it.
I want to make sure the injectors and new pump are happy.
    Any suggestions?

acetone or lacquer thinner will dissolve almost anything. Really any of the more nasty solvents should get the job done, even gasoline will work. Just watch lacquer thinner, it'll evaporate off if you aren't paying attention and then you'll be left with the same sludge you have now.
