Have you gone to a D.O for your pinched nerve/pain ? I am disabled however thanks to my D.O, I can generally stand straight and he works with the pain and my structural limitations very well. No pain meds either.

I had not heard of that title before, and after some Googling, I see it is a concept only recognized/taught in schools in the US.

I saw my family doctor initially, who ordered X-rays, then referred me for physiotherapy. I have gone for physiotherapy with combined chiropractic treatment twice a week for the last month. I suspect but am not sure that some of this is covering what you were getting at.

As we have reached sort of a plateau where I am not getting better and my symptoms stopped evolving, we're now looking at further diagnostic testing...MRI, EMG, whatever is deemed appropriate. Apparently it is standard/common to wait longer than this in physiotherapy before jumping to that path, but because I have a clear neurological symptom it justifies skipping steps.

Hope you feel better and continue to take it seriously, as it seems you are.

Ive had some knee pain isolated to my left knee that came and went (for no apparent reason) since April 2020 where I couldn't bend or put pressure on it whatsoever. September rolls around and it just would not go away anymore.

After many doctor visits, multiple surgical biopsies scans up the wazoo...x-rays, MRI, CT, PET and bone marrow biopsy/aspiration from back of my pelvis I have cancer. Its not life threatening and slow to grow...the doctors categorize it as a indolent lymphoma but still put a halt on my life for the past 5 months.

I am currently undergoing radiation treatment for it and am expected make a full recovery.

Anyways, you never know what is coming your way so always seek out why you are feeling the way you are just to be on the safe and proactive side of things.

Regarding a potential sale of the car..I get it. Hopefully everyone is honest and no funny business goes down.

last time I had problems with something it went through the X-ray/PT/finally to an MRI so they could figure out the real problem. Would have saved a lot of time and money just going straight to the MRI.

Yikes on the cancer, but good that the docs think you'll make a full recovery. Here's hoping.

            Thanks.

This all started as a workers comp case so I dont know if there is some incentive to try and get you better faster than usual.

I believe doctors try the least aggressive (most cost effective) options first for insurance purposes who knows.

Luckily for me it went urgent care (because I was in a lot of pain and appointment for bone doc was not for a couple days), told work I was hurt then workers comp took over, went to orthopedist, then MRI (after which workers comp said "no more" because work didnt cause something to grow inside my bone) and then orthopedic surgeon to see what the hell was inside my femur...been to hematologist, lymphoma oncologist specialist and now radiation oncologist. Thank goodness for health insurance. Id be broke.

Kevin hope you feel better. It sucks being active and then all of a sudden being held back by injuries. Not knowing what is going on is the worst.

I will ask my DO this week if he knows anything about his specialty in Canada. I went to Chiropractors since the late 80s. I am convinced it ruined my back in the long run. If I had gone to a DO in 1990, I would have save me years of long term pain !

Sucks to hear about the stuff you've been going through, Kevin! Good to see you posting again though, there is progress in that. Was there anything that triggered it or did you just wake with pain? Strange how things can be going so well and then bam, you get dealt a crummy hand that persists long after you've left the table..

Also sucks to hear about you having cancer, David. Geez, getting old sucks, and we're not even that old.

Thirty-four here. The day you're born is also the day you start dying.. I take it one day at a time. I'm not here for a long time, but a good time.

                      39. Just occurred to me today that the last several times I've seen certain people has been at funerals. Bit of a depressing thought. They all live "away" so its not like I can just drop over for coffee and a bullshit.

43 here and yeah... funerals have come and gone too often in recent years. One of my wife's uncles is dealing with brain cancer (hyper aggressive) and has 6-8 months max to live (so say the doctors). No clue how that's going to play out as nobody is broaching the subject at this point. Probably take it as it hits as is the usual pattern with these things. This time we have a heads up. My cousin dying last year caught everyone off guard because he was probably the only one who knew how bad off he really was. He never let anyone worry about him and was one of the most caring assholes you'd ever meet. Sometimes I feel like being such a "responsible adult" and not having fun so I can save and get that nice house on some land and finally have a shop to build "the toy" is going to leave me without any time left to do much of anything. I here today, might as well learn to enjoy it.

tl;dr - cancer sucks. death sucks. I miss people. I need to learn to live while I can.

I'm only 21 and sometimes I wonder how I'm not dead yet, considering how I'm living life from time to time.
Even though I'm so young, I've lost quite many people from around me, every single one is too many. The saddest part is that many were taken by someone else's hand and atleast two by their own hand.
Some say I seem desensitized, while that may be partly true, I mostly just don't show my (negative) emotions. Because if I do, it takes me over and I crumble down like a house of cards.

I was taught to be responsible in every way. Responsible is often boring, boring is the opposite of enjoying life. You gotta enjoy it while you're still here
Hopefully I'm replacing the Volvo with something actually fast, we'll see how long I live then.

You won't understand the full value of being "responsible in every way" until you are older and maybe with a family. Actually any kids you have, will have a good chance of being brought up with the same values that you have.
It is tragic that so many of the people you know have died. As I read your comments, Your not desensitized, your just holding your emotions in. You need to grieve for each loss. You will feel better and the built up pressure (like a pressure cooker) won't explode when you least expect it.

Kishy; I hope whatever scans (MRI, etc....) you get; reveal a treatable condition.

Dave is right; we/I need to be proactive with our health. I have a tendancy to wait on things like that. Then when things get to the tipping point; I do something about it. That is not the way to do things. I learned that lesson with my deviated septum. I've had the condition since I was a kid; but it wasn't bad; until a decade ago when I noticed that I could only breathe through 1 nostril. I was okay with that until that nostril clogged up. Did I do anything about that? No. I just breathed through my mouth for 2016 (yes, a whole year!) until I had my 3rd sinus infection and my ENT demanded I get corrective surgery. After the surgery, I was able to breathe through my nose again. It's not perfect as one side clogs at night; but I can breathe whilst sleeping. Should have done that 30 years ago; my health during high school would have been much better had I done so. And that is the point; need to be proactive.

                              Oh, I'm 43 as well.
