Does it go to that vacuum servo right above that large firewall grommet?

Not 100% certain, but I think that goes to the vacuum actuator for the recirc/fresh air door.

Definitely goes to one of the HVAC vacuum actuators.

Yeah, looks like recirc/fresh air door vacuum actuator. Arrow in the second picture shows where it should go. (Firewall side of the actuator in your first picture.)

Yep, that was it. Plugged into the vacuum actuator down there in your picture.

I took the car on a 10-minute drive, and the heat is now working for the first time since ~2016. Also, despite my mediocre soldering skills, the variable-speed blower control seems to be working for the first time since I've owned the car, as I now have a continuous range of blower speeds. Again, really grateful for everyone's help!

I just need to put the dash trim, kick panels, etc. back in place, and everything should be good.

Good job !! Nice to have a job turn out with a good ending. I remember that hidden bolt... I think the first time I dealt with that was back in the 80s.
              Nice to have heat !
