1984 Lincoln Town Car for parts- Batavia IL.

Made it out to the yard today. The place hasn’t changed one bit since I was there 15 years ago.

The car had more of a panoramic moonroof conversion rather than just removal!

Seats just unbolted for quick removal if seller of parts car seats are in good enough condition for me to want them.

They ain't my first choice (there are nicer town car style seats out there) but have been looking for a complete set of tan velour seats for a long time now so a guy has to settle.

That’s the yard. It still stinks like hell! Trumbull asphalt is to the northeast and of the winds are right you get a nice mix of all kinds of odor.

I’ve actually been inside both of those plants back in my days as an industrial burner and boiler technician. Smells are the least of their problems! To this day I still can’t figure out how they haven’t blown themselves up at the asphalt plant.

Last time I was in that yard was maybe 2011. The city of Chicago had a big flood. Lots of cars underwater. That yard was full of flood cars. At first that is what I thought I was smelling, rotting flood cars. Nope it was the nasty air. Lots of CV taxis. Got lots of spare parts for my 75 LTD there. Went to three huge car shows. Lake of the hills was one, Chicagoland police car show was another, Remember going to a river boat Casino for dinner one night. It was in August, hot humid not pleasant weather.

Hey guys Long time no post but I've still been lurking LOL! There's an 87/88 iirc TC that got put out at LKQ North Ave last week but ive yet to go see her. I grabbed the cornering lamps off the one at Summit.

So, how'd this go? Anyone scarf any parts off of it?
He's updated the ad on cl but the ad hasn't changed in wording or photo's.

It's a bit far for me to want to go to pull parts. Sorry 87gtVIC

According to Matt they didnt have much interest in working out a deal on the seats. No biggie.

It’s a very unmotivated seller. The seller is actually not a private individual. It’s a customization shop. The person I was emailing was not willing to send me any of the pictures I requested or work with me on a time in the evening for me to come out. He basically said he wanted nothing to do with the project of building the car into a demo car. It was his boss wanting to do it to promote the shop.
