Just got a 87 Crown Vic LX. My sons car, we got it to teach him about cars and working on them. Get him off the damn video games some. He loves the car!

Just rebuilt all window motors and got that all squared away.

Will be asking various questions. Im familiar with foxbodies, not so much on the panther. Thanks guys.

    Welcome!

"My" first car was an '87 CV and I've been driving panthers ever since.
A good amount of what you know of fox bodies should apply to box body panthers as well. We can help fill in the gaps.

Welcome. My first car was my 87 CV. Still have it and over 30k in receipts! AND I do all my own work except the repaint and top. Its a fun car.

Nice to hear your going to have bonding time with your son and the CV. Video games don't teach skills that can put money in a person's pocket. Welcome to the site. I think you will appreciate the panther vs fox body more for no other reason that there is more room to work in a panther.

It's not always about money. Certainly a better alternative than snorting dust or meth.

I noticed that there is SO much more room already! Ive secretly always liked the box panthers. The ride and comfort is incredible. What year stopped the full front to rear frame?

Many many hours spent on this car...frustrating, fun, painful and educational hours.

Can click "The Brown Blob" text in my signature for a direct link to a basic rundown of what the car has.

2011 was the last model year, body on frame all the way to the end.
Apparently 2012 model year had CVs in the middle east.

I thought I read somewhere the frame changed on later models some year. Made it sound like it was less robust?

Don’t get too depressed over it lol. I can tell you how much I spent on rust repair with mine earlier this year and you will instantly feel better!
