    Default '84 Grand Markweess Cream Puff

    Another nice one - looks like it needs some sun visor attention and a gallon or two of Bondo for the right rear qtr, but cherry other than that! Not clear on what his price is - sez $1500, but he goes on to say Facebork wouldn't let him put in the price he wanted yada yada yada...

    That’s a joke if trying for more that the 1500 already. I wonder if sellers like this are so clueless that they get screwed on every car they buy. Come on how hard is it to put the picture of the rear end and quarter where all the damage is?

    It’s an ugly tactic. Get them to the door then act stupid. Cars totaled from an insurance standpoint. Cant tell otherwise. Unless face book doesn’t let one sell a car for 500 bucks I don’t know what’s going on here.

    I like the interior though.

    Just zoomed in for a better look. That quarter is stoved in! Lots of money needed to fix that.

    I think a fun thread would be stuff from Facebork Marketplace highlighting the outlandish values some people assign to their junk! $1500 is not beyond the realm of reason (if that's indeed what this guy is asking). There are 2 "Panther" wagons in the SE region right now advertised for over $6000 (hint: they're not super mint <10K mile "survivors", either! ) I call this "Facebook Market Value". Formula for FMV is usually actual market value X 10, but sometimes more if it's a "Mopar" or something that looks sorta like something else they saw on some reality TV show and heard it was "valuable".

    Some other favorite "Facebook Marketing Techniques" are:

    * showing a picture of a restored car from the internet that is NOT the rusted out hulk they actually have for sale

    * showing a picture of the car 35 years ago when it was practically new

    * price = "$1234"

    * miles are advertised as whatever is showing on the odometer, as though rolling over twice "renewed" the miles somehow (this could also be explained by millennial and younger sellers who don't grasp that old cars can't show more than 99,999.9 miles!)

    * "I want $9000 for this rusted out, burned out, no engine, smashed window '68 Falcon 4-door six-cylinder car, but DON'T TEXT ME ASKING A BUNCH OF QUESTIONS" or statements to that effect

    I’ve been tainted by looking at too many of these piles from Craigslist and mustang forums. I ain’t no fool and when I point all all the wrong shit someone has they always act like they never knew it or realized. I’ve been lied to way too many times before checking out a car and just exhausted by it. Most sellers are all the same. Cover up the bad/ ignore it and hope some dummy comes along with more money than brains to pick it up off their hands. Not me.

    There is an ass for every seat. Just need to find the right ass to fall for it.

    Oh, well, it's still fun to see what people have for sale. Occasionally, one finds a good deal. I haven't gotten any cars off FBM, but I've scored a bunch of good deals on parts. That goes for craigslist too. Yes, often it's annoying to wade through the BS sellers.....

    Many if not all of the BS sellers are never going to sell their crap anyway, just takes up space.

    I do agree with the majority of this. Seems spot on. Why oh why though?
