    PCV Valve Cover

Car is a 1985 Country Squire - CFI - i was replacing the PCV in the valve cover as it was leaking around and the bottom broke and fell into the head. I guess now i have to remove the valve cover to take out ...

is there any other way ? ...tried to fish it out but cant find it

    Thanks

You could try to pull it out with one of those flexible grabbers if you can see it from the hole. A borescope would help with that. Taking the valve cover off will obviously be the for sure method. If it hasn't fallen very deep you might be able to fish it out with the hook dental tool in those cheap mechanic dental tool sets.

Did '85 come with the cork valve cover gaskets? If so and if they are still on there it would be a great time to get some better valve cover gaskets on there.
If it already has good gaskets, like the Fel-Pro Permadry ($21.79 - discount code + shipping on Rockauto) you probably reuse them.
I'm only used to the later SEFI cars, but it seems to me that pulling a valve cover should be much easier on a CFI (or even on a carbed) car.

Pull the covers, replace the gaskets that probably need replacing anyway.

There is a group of vacuum control solenoids on the driver's side but not that huge of an issue. Just be careful with them.
