Greetings From Soon To Be Owner

Greetings from Calgary! Just a quick intro here from a soon to be Panther owner.
Going to pick it up tomorrow and hopefully drive it home (less than 35 km) after an extended nap.
    Just a teaser shot...

Teaser shot for sure. '79 or '80?

I believe the centre license plate and clear turn signal lenses make it a '79, if I remember my early box trivia right.

Welcome! Super excited to see another Canadian box in the enthusiast realm, even if you are very far still. We are few and far between, literally.

Best of luck with the trip to pick it up.

82 grill, but seeing the clear lenses and the above mentioned bumper license plate location says it is likely a 79.

          Welcome to the forum.

I thought that grill was later, the driver side mirror is what lead me to believe it is likely '79 possibly '80. I thought I read somewhere that the clear lenses and center plate were '79 only, but wasn't sure.

It is a 79 Country Squire with 87K (187k?) kms indicated.
Anyone have a good source for decoding the label in the drivers door jam?
From what I have found the rear axle code is G which I believe is a 2.26 but I couldn't find TR (transmission?) code of WMMKK.

Was there some rust preventative side effect to ford's brown paint? Seriously seems like only the brown wagons survive when left in the wild. I have one of those free range field wagons in brown.
