Trying to match the outer wood on the 89 Colony Park

Well, I bought a mahogany sample from the MetroRestyling company. But it seemed too even and was not "stripe-like" and burled as the original. I will buy some more samples - Marine Teak, Primavera, and Rosewood - and see what they are like. Go to

DIY fake wood grain an option?
In any case since it isn't the first time cropping up, three, somewhat rambling videos on painting your own woodgrain. Something to chew on for you, or anyone else looking to try it out.

I painted some plastic trim pieces on my BMW to simulate wood since finding originals was damn near impossible they came out pretty damn close. I used that second video as a guide. I don't think I would attempt it on something large though.

You may want to try this one as their picture shows it on a woody.

For somewhat older Colony Parks than mine, I read from another on-line source that it was the Di-Noc Rosewood.
