Box Body Vent Windows - Dew Wipe Molding

On my 89 Colony Park - the belt molding/bright work that the dew wipe is stapled to is actually in good shape. So is the dew wipe. I have already installed the vent window, bolted it down with a J nut to the spot on the door shell. The window rolls up and down freely.

THe problem is the bright work the dew wipe is stapled to. I trimmed it down some, but stopped. I don't see how the belt molding is going to snap down into place with the bolt/nut already tightened down for the vent window. Are you supposed to notch the belt molding so it can slide down? How much of the dew wipe are you supposed to remove? I looked through some threads and found this picture from like a decade ago...

I did end up having to remove the weather stripping and staples and 1 clip that ran next to the smoker window. At the Frame vertical edge I trimmed it there. I had to notch the dew wipe bright work to allow a bolt/nut to pass through. After that, everything was smooth sailing. Windows slide up and down. seems to work well!
