    Default 302 vs 351

    Dear Gurus,
My everyday (rebuilt to specs 1989 fuel injected) 302 wagon will cruise (1000 pounds cargo) through S.D. semi legal at 82mph and 21mpg. I do like its punch when I'm passing on a country two-lane. If I swapped to a 351: would I get more punch w/o losing mileage?

The more displacement your engine has, the more fuel it will consume. You can mod the 302 to give it more power though.

Which lasts longer, I've seen plenty a 302 take a beating for well over 150,000mi. The 351 in my bronco didn't last that long and I didn't even beat on it, well the engine anyways.
