    engine removal w/ hood on?

    Is it possible to pull the 302 on a box without taking the hood off?

    well, i'm sure the way i've got mine right now it is!

    but then it's down to block lol

    but hey, it's possible to remove a 7.3 diesel out of an f350 without taking the hood off

      Not unless you take a torch and cut the center out of it it isn't...
      Or you can cut the radiator support out and pull the motor out the front....

      I suppose it actually would be possible if you pull the upper&lower intake off and pull the pan when it gets above the cross member along with the pump and pickup. Then it seriously is possible.

        just mark the posistion of the hood reletive to the hinges and take it off, it is just 4 bolts.

            I pulled the 351W and AOD out of an 87 squad car with the hood on. The cherry picker barely cleared the latch.
