Yeah right, in all my old popular science/mechanics mags from the 50s American cars were pulling down 19-27mpg.

Believe that if you want, but this is not a 50s car, it has a bigger engine with much better heads, and much more cam. You will not be able to get over 20 mpg consistantly without a 30mph tail wind.

Most 50's cars had at least 300+ ci. Its just their compression ratios were pathetic. They weighed a ton too.

You and your "carbs suck" popaganda again, here we go

I knocked down 21+ on a trip from FL to SC, driving aaround 80mph.

Let's not start the carb vs. EFI debate again.

I saw an article where they tuned a Holley double pumper carb to 20+ MPG. It was doe on a chassis dyno with wideband O2's and Vacum guages and a competent carb tuner. This was alos on a performance motor.

for those wondering about MAGNA 302...
MAGNA is an acronym for Massive Aggressive Genuine Navigational Automobile.
I had to come up with a name for the car and I thought I'd make an acronym!

SCPS, used to be in my sig, stood for Space Comfort Power Speed.

My all time favorite was the acronym I made out of my old NASA internship program.

I regularly get 24 with my EFI on road trips.

there is no debate. EFI will always be better.

The difference is, you knocked down 21mpg on a single trip, where as EFI will do it evey time. The planets don't have to be aligned for it to work perfect.

EFI is better if you like to set it and forget it.

Carbs can do just as well with the required tuning.
