For what it's worth, mine does move while autocrossing. Found the limitations of my rednecked hold down setup really quickly

160KMs 600cfm holley, shorty headers, 2.5" catted exhaust, 255/295 tires, cop shocks, cop swaybars, underdrive pulley, 2.73L gears.
waiting for install: 3.27's, Poly bushings, boxed rear arms, 2500 stall converter, ported e7's, etc

mine has never had a battery clamp. I know it should, but I keep forgetting to grab the right type of battery tray. '86 trays are stupid and require a wierdo small battery that I won't buy. The Group 65 that I run doesn't fit in there so that the stock clamp works. The one on the truck rotted out. It just needs a tray, which again I keep forgetting about.

Believe me brother, they do move. I once hit a stupid speed bump at just the right speed to make the battery jump and slide just enough to impale itself on the single bolt sticking up thru the core support in front of it. Battery acid pouring all over the place is no fun to neutralize, and does the sheetmetal it comes in contact with no favors either. Do the ratchet strap thing, anything is better than nothing.

I have a rather simple solution for those situations that works quite well, cheap as all heck too. A pair of J-hooks and a piece of flat bar across the battery between the J-hooks, if it held the 65s in my truck while bouncing down dirt roads it will have no problem keeping your 65 contained. A piece of rubber between the tray and the battery bottom also helps quite a bit in the friction department, serves as some insulation for cold weather as well.

battery tray is such that the studs that the piece of angle where the J hook connects to stick into the bottom of the battery. The one from an 87+ is bigger and will actually let the battery sit properly. I think after poking a hole in a battery case I did finally knock those studs out, but the holes just aren't where they belong. There is absolutely no hardware at all in there to retain the battery. It sits there purely by the grace of Newton.

Interesting... The Doktor's Mk6 has the smaller battery tray too, yet it fits a Group 65 no problem - it actually uses the plastic crate top from a Group 56 or whatever should actually be there under the battery as a spacer, basically the "crate" drops between the plates for the J-hooks and thus lifts the battery bottom above them, so when you put the J-hooks in they don't actually touch the bottom of the battery. Not sure who came up with that idea, but damn it works good!

Cables are in. Terminals are solid copper.

I managed to screw this one up a little by being a damn idiot, but it's not bad and should still work fine.

Pardon the shitty phone camera, it's all I have. You get the idea though.

Putting it here because I keep forgetting to mention it. It's not very exciting at the moment.

Good to hear, I was going to say check yours to make sure it is copper like mine but I figured you would check.
The camera looks like it was trying to focus on the background but from what I can tell it looks like that end is still good.
