The manifold on my friends 97CV cracked like that. He picked one up at the JY and we put it on, no big deal.
It's a lot easier job than it looks.
I think we ended up with less than $100 in the end, the Ford dealer wanted $1200.

Plus you have to swap out the metal heater core return line and nipple.

For PI intake. If you're just swapping out for an aluminum crossover, just remove old intake, and replace with newer betterer intake.
Details on PI intake swap here, (if you want) :

Also, don't forget new intake manifold gaskets!!!

I will be doing this on my town car soon as well. Looks pretty simple, just a lot of removing and hooking back up. Not too complicated. I was looking for a metal crossover when purchasing as well, but I couldn't not buy a clean car due to it.

I replaced my intake on my '97 town car around spring time, when I got it. It looks intimidating but, its not so bad. And like said, good time to do the by-pass tube and tune up. I also did my water pump at the same time.

Its the metal pipe that runs from the heatercore, to the front of the engine. It is found under the intake. It is prolly rusty and during the intake replacement, it would be easy to replace it.

it connects the water pump and heater core. Without the pipe, you have a huge coolant leak.

Or when it blows out in the dead of winter (stuck in snow. Imangine...) and you have to limp your car 25 miles back home.

The 92-95s have a stupid rubber line instead of a metal one. I'd rather have a metal one.

Both fit my vehicle. Which one should I be getting?

I'd go with the first one. The second one has rubber in it. I just don't trust it in there after what happened to me.

Different mounting brackets too... And I don't think there's an easy way to look up which one will work for me without taking the manifold off.

One would think that after 20+ years of panther cars Ford would have nailed down what works and what doesn't, yet we have a million versions of the same old thing.
