I’m new to the forum but I have been checking it out for years. I’m on my 3rd Panther car and 2nd Grand marquis. My current project is a ‘96 Grand Marquis that I am turning into a daily driver so I don’t have to drive my F350 everyday. I will post some pictures and a write up when I have the ol girl ready for the road.

It has the updated intake with the aluminum crossover. It looks like it was done many years ago. I considered repairing the cracked heater hose barb but the crack is pretty low on the barb “almost all the way”.Originally posted by friskyfrankie View Post

That's common failure point. Pretty much replace the intake or cut the barb off flush and replace with a brass or stainless barb JB Weld'd to the plastic. There are also aftermarket all aluminum intakes, but they're all for the later PI engine (2001+). That requires some excessive RTV to fill gaps between the non PI heads and the PI intake gaskets.
